Mr Reasonable comments on a "rushed Delegated Powers Report highlight[ing] the failure to properly administer the MetPro Contract".
Read the article here.
The Delegated Powers Report, "Urgent Replacement of Security Service Provision in Council Properties", is available here. I'm going to look at it on my way to work (late start Wednesdays).

It won't take you long to read. The Contract will go out to proper tender as soon as Barnet get their act together. EU rules require it. The cost of security is ridiculous; is it all needed.
No security of note would be needed at the Town hall if Councillors made sensible decisions; except to stop the mob of adoring fans - be realistic Mr Mustard, the best that councillors can hope for is a lack of protest.
That's enough MetPro - Ed!
Dear DD, The issue is not MetPro but the poor council systems and procedures that allowed it to happen in the first place. Given that the council have just commenced an outsouricng process with an estimated cost of between £270 and £290 million I would have though that getting to grips with how the council procure, monitor and manage contracts was actually very important.
This might be one for you, vickim57:

Thanks, dzbodenbelag, you're right and it's well and truly on my radar.
NUJ strike at Tindle newspapers (incl. Barnet Press) from Tuesday 19 April for two weeks, over non-filling of vacant posts.
More soon...
