There is controversy about the species of tree that Barnet council plans to plant on Edgware Road. Fair enough, but rather depressing that they can't get it right. The Edgware Road is not 'leafy, green' Barnet but 'grey concrete' Barnet and badly needs some prettifying.

There is something else whic struck me after I finished the blog. Why is it that Barnet will spend money on making leafy green bits nice, but not Edgware road. Just suppose they really believe their porkies that "it costs the taxpayer nothing"? I think that sums up their spending prioritys to working class high streets.
